My work focuses on level design, spatial gameplay, interactive systems, 3D environments, and AI-assisted design tools. I’m especially interested in how designer knowledge can be formalized into systems that help evaluate, generate, and explain player experiences.

About
I’m Lucas Feng, a game and level designer with a background in 3D environment production, systems design, and interactive media research.
My recent work focuses on AI-assisted design tools, procedural level analysis, player modeling, and methods for translating designer intent into computational systems.
Current Research
AI-Assisted Generation & Evaluation of 2D Climbing Levels
Independent Research ProjectUnity / C#2026–Present
Developing a research prototype for AI-assisted generation and evaluation of climbing levels using explicit movement constraints and simulated player capabilities.
The current system includes reachability validation, transition solving, center-of-mass analysis, directional sidepull mechanics, and heuristic route evaluation.
Designed and implemented level flow, environmental storytelling, puzzle progression, player guidance, and environment production for a first-person narrative puzzle game.
The project was exhibited at PAX East 2026 and the IGDA Clark Game Expo.
Clark University Becker School of Design & Technology
2026–Present
Supported undergraduate organic modeling and digital sculpting courses through demonstrations, critique, technical instruction, and student mentorship.
Game Level Designer
Bamboo Internet Information Service Co., Ltd.
December 2021 – August 2023
Designed gameplay levels and systems for a free-to-play mobile game, iterating on pacing, difficulty, player flow, and modular level structures through playtesting and analysis.
